Er zijn weer pups geboren en wel op 15 mei 2011! Neen, niet bij Of Weimar’s Joy, maar wel een nest dat ook door ons gefokt had kunnen worden.

Ons laatste nest in 2008 uit Dazzling Dewdrop of Weimar’s Joy bevatte slechts één reu (Early Grey of Weimar’s Joy) die mee is gegaan met zijn in Zweden gefokte  vader (Scuba's Finest Rob Roy) naar Denemarken.
Het nestje dat nu geboren is (drie teven en zes reuen) komt uit een combinatie van een Zweedse teef (Wokseb’s Reha, woonachtig in Engeland, ten oosten van Londen) en de nestbroer van Dewdrop, (Dèdito di Primavera of Weimar’s Joy, roepnaam Dodi).

Een bijzonder nest wanneer men zich realiseert dat één teef bij de fokker (David Pilkington) blijft, één reu naar Nederland zal komen en mee zal gaan met de eigenaar van de dekreu, één teef naar Zweden wordt geëxporteerd naar de fokker van de moederhond Reha (Anders and Elisabeth Beskow) en één teef naar Nederland wordt geëxporteerd om liefdevol door ons – de fokkers van de vaderhond Dodi – te worden ontvangen.

Er zijn nog enkele reuen beschikbaar uit dit veelbelovend nest, bij voorkeur te plaatsen bij Weimaranerliefhebbers die de jacht- en veldwerkkwaliteiten van ons prachtige ras weten te waarderen.  De fokker is overigens ook eigenaar van Holly, de eerst – en tot dusverre enige - Weimaranerteef die veldwerkkampioen in Engeland werd.

Yes, there are puppies are born on May 15th, 2011! However, not at Of Weimar´s Joy, but it is somehow a litter that could have been bred by us.

Ou of our last litter in 2008 Dazzling Dewdrop of Weimar's Joy carried only one male puppy (Early Grey of Weimar's Joy) who has gone along with his father Macho (bred in Sweden, Scuba's Finest Rob Roy) to Denmark.

The litter which is now born (three females and six male puppies) comes from a combination of a Swedish female (Wokseb's Reha, living in England, east of London) and as sire the litterbrother of Dewdrop, (Dèdito di Primavera of Weimar's Joy, Dodi ).

A special litter when one realizes that one of the puppies will stay with the breeder (David Pilkington) in England, another puppy will go Holland to keep his father Dodi company and stay with the owner of the stud dog, another bitch will be exported to Sweden to the breeder of the dam Reha (Anders and Elisabeth Beskow) and  the last female puppy will go to the Netherlands to live with us, the breeders of the sire Dodi.

There are few males available from this promising litter, preferably to be placed in homes where the hunting abilities of the Weimaraner are appreciated. David Pilkington, the breeder, is also the owner of Holly, the second Weimaraner, but the first - and so far only –female Weimaraner that was awarded the title field trial champion by the Kennel Club in England.

AUTUMN BREEZE OF WEIMAR’S JOY (Breeze)

Breeze werd geboren op 17 januari 1998 en is – op twee weken na – 13 jaar geworden. Zij kwam voort uit een Amerikaans-Duitse combinatie en was onze eerste zelf gefokte Weimaraner. Breeze heeft twee nesten gehad. Een maatje in het veld, die steady op wild voor kon staan maar vooral plezier had in de nazoek en het zweetwerk. Zij had een prima karakter, stond qua exterieur haar “mannetje” en tijdens de jacht wist je met Breeze aan je zijde, dat al het wild binnen zou komen. Breeze was Jeugd Winster ’98, Lux. Jeugd Kamp, de eerste Weimaraner die de titel Veteranen Kampioen achter haar naam kreeg en in het bezit van VJP, F&W Prüfung, HZP en VGP.

De laatste paar maanden ging het al veel minder goed met haar achterhand en dat verslechterde in het eerste weekend van dit jaar zodanig dat de beslissing moest worden genomen haar in te laten slapen. Wij missen haar ontzettend en troosten ons met de gedachte dat zij een respectabel aantal nakomelingen in binnen- en buitenland heeft, waarin wij veel van de eigenschappen die haar zo bijzonder maakte herkennen.

AUTUMN BREEZE OF WEIMAR'S JOY (Breeze)
 

Breeze was born on January 17th, 1998, and became almost 13 years old. She was bred out of a German-American combination and it was our first Weimaraner we bred ourselves. Breeze has had two litters. She was my mate and buddy in the field, steady on point but mostly had fun in tracking and retrieving. She had a lovely character and temperament. When  you hunted with Breeze on your side you were sure that the game would come in Breeze was Youth Winner '98, Lux Youth Ch, the first Weimaraner to the Veteran Champion title after her name en she passed the VJP, Feld und Wasserprüfung, HZP and VGP.

The last few months it went less well with her hindquarters and she deteriorated in the first weekend of the year 2011 so the decision had to be taken to put her to sleep. We miss her terribly, and comfort ourselves with the thought that she left a respectable number of offspring in the Netherlands and abroad, in which we recognize a lot of the qualities that made ​​her so very special.

Internationale Kampioenen/FCI International Champions

Op zaterdag 10 september 2005 behaalde Kamp. Baroness Mara of Weimar's Joy van Machteld van der Linden op de int. hondenshow te Oostende (België) het laatste benodigde punt voor haar FCI INTERNATIONAAL KAMPIOENSCHAP. Zij werd beste teef, best of breed en zesde in de eindkeuring van de groep.

Saturday 10th September at the International Dog Show in Oostende (Belgium) S.Ch Baroness Mara of Weimar's Joy, owned and handled by Miss Machteld van der Linden, was awarded the final championship ticket she needed to apply for the title FCI INTERNATIONAL SHOW CHAMPION. Mara became best bitch, best of breed and was placed 6th in the group pointing dogs.

In April 2007 Charming Darcy of Weimar's Joy owned by the fam. Timmers qualified for the FCI internationaal schoonheidskampioenschap.

Int. & Lux. & Deens S.Ch Dazzling Dewdrop of Weimar's Joy JW '03

Saturday 13th June 2009 at the International Dog Show in Vejen (Danmark) Lux Ch Dazzling Dewdrop of Weimar's Joy JW´03, owned and handled by Jur Deckers, was awarded the final (third) championship ticket she needed to apply for the title FCI INTERNATIONAL SHOW CHAMPION. She was awarded CACIB certificates in the Netherlands, Germany and Danmark.

Dewdrop not only became best bitch in the Fieldtrial class and best Weimaraner bitch of the show, but was also awarded with the Danish Show Champion title.

Eerste Weimaraner Veteranenkampioen

Tijdens de internationale Kerstshow in Wychen in 2006 werd aan Autumn Breeze of Weimar's Joy JW'98, Lux Jeugd Ch op negenjarige leeftijd het laatste benodigde punt toegekend om als eerste Weimaraner de titel VETERANENKAMPIOEN te verkrijgen. Zij werd in de eindkeuring ook nog op een na beste teef met een reserve CAC.

First Dutch Weimaraner Veteran Champion

During the international Christmas dogshow in Wychen in december 2006 Autumn Breeze of Weimar's Joy JW'98, Lux Youth S.Ch was awarded the final ticket to apply as first Weimaraner for the VETERAN CHAMPIONSHIP. At the age of nine years she also became runner up best bitch and was awarded a reserve CAC.

VGP 2008

Op 10 en 11 oktober 2008 namen Dèdito di Primavera of Weimar's Joy (Dodi) van Dario Martina en Destiny's Dyma of Weimar's Joy van Ger Hagen deel aan de Verbands-gebrauchsprüfung VGP in de buurt van Schwerinsdorf (Duitsland, Landesgruppe Niedersachsen).

De VGP verliep voor Dyma niet voorspoedig; bij het Verhalten auf dem Stand (op post zitten tijdens een gesimuleerde drijfjacht) was de verleiding voor Dyma te groot en dat betekende dat zij wegens een onvoldoende op dit verplichte gehoorzaamheidsvak de VGP niet kon behalen. Wat was dat jammer, want zij liet een zweetwerk zien waar de toeschouwers en keurmeesters ontzettend van onder de indruk waren. De keurmeesters regelden ter plaatse dan ook dat Dyma en Ger een week later - in Braunsweig - een herkansing zouden krijgen.

Hoe anders ging het met Dodi. Bij Dodi en Dario verliep de VGP spreekwoordelijk als van een leien dakje. De bosvakken, gehoorzaamheid, waterwerk en niet in de laatste plaats het veldwerk leverden nagenoeg alleen vieren (de hoogste waardering) op. Bij het stobern achter de eend zelfs een 4h (hervorragend), vanwege de wil om wild te vinden en de zelfstandigheid waarmee Dodi passievol en ruim het riet afzocht.

In het veld ging het ook buitengewoon goed. Dodi kreeg ter plaatse het Armbruster-Haltabzeichen toegekend en die kwalificatie wordt tegekend als de hond gehoorzaam is op haas. Aan het eind van de twee daagse proef werd aan Dario het diplma uitgereikt, een VGP eerste prijs met het ngekend hoge aantal van 322 punten.

En met Destiny's Dyma of Weimar's Joy ging het een week later in Braunsweig ook fantastisch. Met name van haar veldwerk waren de keurmeesters bijzonder oner de indruk. Dyma en Ger behaalden ook een eerste prijs VGP met 312 punten. De balans opmakend is het tamelijk uniek dat uit één combinatie (Sh Ch. Gunalt Wharfe at Rockleyan X Autumn Breeze of Weimar's Joy JW'98, Lux Jeugd Ch, Vet Sh.Ch.) maar liefst vier honden de VGP met succes hebben afgelegd. Naast Dodi en Dyma zijn dat Charming Darcy en Dazzing Dewdrop of Weimar's Joy.

Saturday 10th nd Sunday 11th October 2008 Dèdito di Primavera of Weimar's Joy (Dodi) owned and handled by Dario Martina and Destiny's Dyma of Weimar's Joy owned and handled by Ger Hagen participated at the German mastertest, the Verbands-gebrauchsprüfung VGP which took place in and around Schwerinsdorf (Niedersachsen, Germany).

The Mastertest (VGP) did not go as planned for Dyma niet voorspoedig; at the exercise " Verhalten auf dem Stand" (where the dog has to sit next to his handler during a simulated driven shoot) the temptation of game which might have been shot in de woodlands was too big for Dyma. She failed exercise and because this a mandatory subject dor the VGP she was not able to pass for this two day Mastertest.t betekende dat zij wegens een onvoldoende op dit verplichte gehoorzaamheidsvak de VGP niet kon behalen. This was really a shame because Dyma performed so well on the other subjects. The judges were astonished and impressed watching Dyma working on the bloodtrack. De judges made some phonecalls and arranged for Ger and Dyma to do the VGP a week later in Braunsweig.

Dodi worked his way through the two day test in a tremendous way. The judges found him working extraordinary in excellence. His work in the woodlands, obdience, aterwork and last but not least the search for game in the field, Dodi got almost for each and every subject the highest appreciation from the three judges. For the work in the water reed behind the living duck Dodi was awarded not only an 4 (the maximum is 4 points) but also a "Hervorragend" (Excellent). On the dimplom the judges have to motivate why that "4H" was given to the dog, and the judges were quite clear om that point. Dodi showed so much perseverance, taking a great distance from his handler and working independently willing to search for and finding the duck.

In the field Dodi also scored remarkable results. While he was searching a hare ran away and Darion was able to stop Dodi using his whistle. When the hare was completely out of sight, Dodi was send to follow the track. He was awarded with the "Armbruster-Haltabzeichen" for his obedience on the hare. At the end of the two day Mastertest Dario received the VGP certificate with a fist prize and 322 points, which is a result dat only one or two other Dutch Weimaraners ever matched.

And with Destiny's Dyma of Weimar's Joy it went well too, a week later in Braunsweig. The judges were impressed by her performance in the field. She worked quite independently takeing lost of ground and searching with passion for game. Dyma and Ger passed for the VGPO Mastertest also with a first prize with 312 points.

Even in Germany it is quite unique that out of the same combination (Sh Ch. Gunalt Wharfe at Rockleyan X Autumn Breeze of Weimar's Joy JW'98, Lux Jeugd Ch, Vet Sh.Ch. VJP, HZP, F&W, VGP) four dogs passed for the VGP. Bedsides Dodi and Dyma also Charming Darcy and Dazzing Dewdrop of Weimar's Joy passed for the VGP in earlier years.

Succes op de WSH Kampioenschapsclubmatch 2009

Op de jaarlijkse kamp. clubmatch van de Vereniniging " De Weimarse Staande Hond" op 16 mei 2009 was dit jaar slechts één " Of Weimar's Joy" ingschreven en wel Destiny's Dyma van Ger en Ria Hagen. Dyma werd met 1 Uitmuntend beste Weimaraner teef in de gebruikshonenklas en in de eindkeuring bovendien beste teef van de dag met een dubbeltellend CAC.

Success at the Championship Clubshow 2009

At the annual Championship Clubshow organized by the Dutch Weimaraner Club, 16th May 2009, there was this year only one "Of Weimar's Joy" entered namely Destiny's Dyma owned by Ger and Ria Hagen. Dyma was placed with a 1st Excellent in the Field trial class and at the end of the day Best Shorthaired Bitch of the Show and awarded with a double championship ticket.

Meervoudige Apporteerproef 2009/Multiple Retrievingtest 2009

Destiny's Dyma of Weimar's Joy van Ger Hagen behaalde op de Meervoudige Apporteerproef MAP, georganiseerd door de Vereniging De Weimarse Staande Hond, op 3 oktober 2009 te Heerle een MAP B met 430 punten, daarmee aantonend dat show, jacht en G&G zeer wel samen kunnen gaan.

Destiny's Dyma of Weimar's Joy owned and handled by Mr Ger Hagen obtatined the B-certificate with 430 points at the Multiple Retrieving Test organized by the Dutch Weimaraner Club in Heerle 3rd October 2009, proving that showing, obedience and hunting abilities can go together in a fine way.
